CMEDA Region-wide Highly Educated Talent

The five-county CMEDA region has an abundance of highly educated and talented workers.   From the excellent public and private secondary school systems to four-year Universities, these outstanding learning environments provide a constant stream of highly trained talent.  Almost 10% of the region’s population over 25 years of age has a graduate degree, as compared to 7.7% for all of Missouri.

Educational Attainment 1990-2014

This region offers plentiful opportunities and superior access to a world-class education.

Of the 35 School Districts across the region, over half consistently meet the Distinction in Performance recognition - Missouri’s highest accreditation achievement.  The standards are based on scores from the state-mandated MAP tests, high school end-of-course exams, graduation rates, ACT scores, and other measures.

Located in Sedalia, Missouri, State Fair Community College offers associate of applied science degrees and professional certificates in nearly 30 programs, including the two newest offerings, dental hygiene and radiologic technology. In addition to its Sedalia campus, extended campus sites are located in Boonville, Carrollton, Clinton, Marshall, Osage Beach, Warsaw, and Whiteman Air Force Base.

Located in Marshall, Missouri, Missouri Valley College is a liberal arts college that provides educational, social and cultural experiences in a decidedly Christian environment. Established in 1889, MVC offers over 30 majors and 7 pre-professional programs, and 15 sports. The liberal arts heritage focuses on scholarship, critical thinking and academic excellence.

Located in Warrensburg, University of Central Missouri is a four-year public University with some 2,083 graduate and 8,980 undergraduate students from 40 states and 52 nations attending classes on the UCM campus. UCM offers 150 programs of study including 10 pre-professional programs, 27 areas of teacher certification, and 37 graduate programs. Through our International Center, students can study in almost every country in the world.

Located in Lexington, Missouri, Wentworth Military Academy and College is a private four-year boarding high school and a two-year junior college.  Wentworth College was founded in 1923 and is one of the oldest junior colleges in America.  Wentworth focuses on transferable credits and offers a fully transferable Associates degree.  Wentworth College has also partnered with Park University to offer several Bachelor degree programs.
